For Organizations

The individual and the system, held together.

Caring for individuals as a family-systems physician lends a rare lens to complexity — where the person and their environment each shape the health of the whole. It's the same lens Dr. Watts brings to founders, executives, and the organizations they build.

The Work

Depth. Pressure.
Clarity. Transformation.

Leaders operate under conditions that would be called clinical anywhere else — chronic stress, impossible decisions, isolation at the top. Dr. Watts works at that intersection: the psychology of the individual and the architecture of the system around them.

Engagements

How organizations work with Dr. Watts.

Engagements take different shapes. Some sit within the clinical practice — individual care for a founder or select leaders. Others sit entirely outside the scope of medical practice — advising the organization itself on culture, trends, and best practices. Many are a hybrid of the two, moving fluidly between the person and the system as the work requires.

Leadership

Executive Coaching

One-on-one work with founders and senior leaders — decision-making under pressure, burnout, identity, and the psychological weight of the role.

Founders

Co-Founder Therapy

Structured work on the founding relationship: conflict, trust, power, and the unspoken dynamics that quietly determine whether a company survives.

Systems

Organizational Psychology

Diagnosing the system, not just the symptom — team dynamics, culture, communication patterns, and the structures that produce them.

Transformation

Change & Burnout

Supporting teams through transformation, restructuring, and growth — with an evidence-based understanding of stress, resilience, and recovery.

Advisory

Speaking & Advisory

Talks, workshops, and standing advisory relationships on mental health, women's health, parental leave, and building humane organizations.

Workforce

Reproductive Health at Work

Advising organizations on fertility, parental leave, and postpartum return — the reproductive life cycle as a workforce issue, not a private one.

Dr. Emily Watts

Why Dr. Watts

A physician's rigor, not a consultant's framework.

Dual fellowship-trained at NYU / Bellevue in reproductive and public psychiatry — the discipline concerned with how complex mental-health systems and organizations are structured, managed, and led — and faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where she teaches residents and fellows.

Public psychiatry is where medicine meets organizational design. Its training reaches well beyond the clinic — into management and leadership, organizational structure, and the practice of guiding institutions through change — preparing physicians to lead programs and systems, not only to treat individuals. It's an uncommon foundation for this work, and a rigorous one: Dr. Watts brings the same discipline to reading an organization — its structure, culture, incentives, and the conditions that let people do their best work.

In Their Words

“Emily sees what a company can't see about itself — the patterns running under the surface. Ten years and two companies in, she's still the first call when it truly matters.”

— Founder, two companies

“She works with equal fluency at the level of the individual and the whole organization. Her counsel has made me a steadier leader, and our teams more human.”

— Co-founder & CEO
